Day 1 – Arrival and local Sightseeing

Upon your arrival at Leh airport received and transfer to the hotel. We recommend that you take the day to rest and acclimatize yourself to the high altitude of 11,135 feet. In the evening, you can explore the Leh Market, visit the Leh Palace, or make your way to the serene Shanti Stupa situated atop a hill near Changspa, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire Leh town.Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 – Leh to Lamayuru via Sham Valley

As part of the Best of Ladakh Tour, we will set off for Lamayuru after having breakfast at the hotel in the morning. Lamayuru, known as the Moonland for its stunning landscape, is also home to the oldest monastery in Ladakh. This monastery, situated on a unique hill, is a significant landmark in the region. During our journey, we will make stops at various sightseeing spots such as the Hall of Fame museum, dedicated to the martyrs who lost their lives in the Kargil war. Additionally, we will also visit the Magnetic hill and Sangam, where the Zanskar and Indus Rivers meet. Overnight stay at Lamayuru.

Day 3 – Lamayuru to Leh

Begin your morning with a visit to the Lamayuru monastery, a historic and breathtaking site situated on a unique hill in Lamayuru village. This monastery, which is looked after by the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, holds the distinction of being one of the oldest monasteries in the region. After exploring this spiritual haven, we will follow the same path back towards Leh along the picturesque Srinagar-Leh Highway. During our journey, we will make a detour across the Indus river to Alchi village. Here, we will have the opportunity to witness the renowned Alchi monastery, renowned for its ancient paintings and thankas that date back to the Kushan period. Continuing our route, we will also pay a visit to the Likir Monastery, a place of deep religious significance.

Additionally, we will make a stop at the Basgo castle, a captivating fortress that once served as the capital of lower Ladakh. Immerse yourself in the rich history and heritage of this impressive structure. As the day draws to a close, we will conclude our adventure by returning to Leh.

Day 4 – Leh – Khardung La (5602m) – Hunder (4000m)

Today, we are embarking on a journey from Leh to the enchanting Nubra valley, known for its captivating beauty in the trans-Himalayan region. Our route will take us through the renowned Khardungla pass, standing tall at an impressive altitude of 18,380 feet. It is renowned as the highest motorable pass worldwide, attracting thrill-seeking bikers and adventurous individuals from all corners of the globe.

Our journey will take us through the North Pullu check post, navigating through narrow roads and challenging blind curves until we eventually arrive at Diskit in the afternoon. Upon reaching Diskit, we will have the opportunity to visit the remarkable Diskit monastery. Additionally, we have plans to make our way towards the renowned Hunder Sand dunes, a highly sought-after destination in Ladakh, where we will have the opportunity to partake in an enjoyable camel ride. It is worth noting that Nubra happens to be the sole place in all of India where these magnificent creatures can be found. Overnight stay at Hotel in Nubra

Day 5 – Turtuk – Hunder – Leh

In the morning, following a delightful breakfast at the camp or guesthouse in scenic Ladakh, we will embark on an enchanting journey towards the Turtuk sector. This region was once a significant part of Baltistan and was under the administration of Pakistan until 1971 when India liberated it. Turtuk, along with its neighboring villages, is inhabited by the Balti ethnic community, known for their unique cultural identity distinct from that of Leh. Our exploration will take us through these captivating villages, immersing ourselves in their rich traditions and heritage. As the day draws to a close, we will make our way back to Hunder, filled with unforgettable.Overnight stay at Hotel in Nubra.

Day 6 – Nubra – Pangong Tso (4350m) via Shayok

Today, our destination is the renowned Pangong lake, a must-visit attraction in Ladakh. This lake holds the title for being the largest brackish lake in Asia and the largest overall at such a high altitude. Our journey will take us along a road less traveled, from Nubra to Shayok, which is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque motorbiking trails. Along the way, we will encounter water crossings and offroad sections, adding an extra element of adventure and enjoyment. Once we reach Pangong, we will continue our drive along the lake’s length, heading towards Merak. It’s worth noting that Merak is the final point accessible to foreigners, making it an ideal endpoint for our trip. Overnight stay.

Day 7 – Drive from Pangong Tso (4350m) to Tsomoriri

As the early morning light breaks, we will awaken to a captivating sight: the breathtaking sunrise over the serene lake. The beauty and peace of this view will undoubtedly leave you yearning to return time and time again. Our journey will then commence towards Loma bend, where we will subsequently divert our path towards Sumdo and make our way to Tsomorriri lake. Along the way, we will be treated to glimpses of picturesque villages in Rupsho, and traverse offroad trails to reach our destination. Tsomorriri lake, with its expansive wetlands reserves, is a haven for an array of migratory birds and wildlife during the appropriate season. Nestled near the lake lies the enchanting village of Korzok, accompanied by the mystical presence of Korzok. Overnight stay at hotel/ Camp.
