Grand Tour of Nepal (7 Nights / 8 Days)
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, is known for its rich history, art, culture, and economy, with a diverse population predominantly Hindu and Buddhist. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Take the opportunity to explore local shopping areas, watch traditional Nepali folk dance performances, or simply relax and soak in the city’s unique atmosphere. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu
Post breakfast, you will embark on a 7-hour sightseeing tour to Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Patan Durbar Square, and Swayambunath. The day will start with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This World Heritage Site features a Nepalese Pagoda style architecture with silver-covered doors and a central idol only touched by four priests. Witness the spiritual cremation rituals at Pashupatinath, where physical essence is released for rebirth. Visit Boudhanath Stupa, which stands over 120 feet tall and is one of the tallest stupas in Asia, you will experience the heart of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. The stupa features a pair of eyes on each side of its rectangular top, symbolizing Lord Buddha’s awareness of all people.
Patan City, also known as Lalitpur and ‘The Beautiful City’, is a UNESCO world heritage site with a rich history. Once home to kings who lived in luxurious palaces in Durbar Square, the city now boasts impressive stupas such as the Ashoka Stupa with its enigmatic painted eyes and the Mahabuddha Temple, filled with terracotta Buddhist representations. After exploring the magnificent Swayambhunath Stupa, a highlight of Kathmandu Valley architecture with its symbolic white dome representing the earth and the 13-tiered structure symbolizing the stages to nirvana, return to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Chitwan (180 kms / 5 – 6 hours approx.)
After breakfast, drive to Chitwan. Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal. It was established in 1973 and was granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Chitwan
Enjoy jungle activities at Chitwan National Park including the jeep safari / canoeing / visit to elephant breeding center / jungle walk and bird watching / Tharu cultural dance show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Chitwan – Pokhara (180 kms, 5 hours drive)
After breakfast drive to Pokhara. Pokhara town, at an altitude of 2,352 feet, enjoy breathtaking views from your hotel on clear days. Pokhara is renowned for its stunning Phewa Lake and the majestic snow-capped mountain peaks visible from the valley, weather permitting. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Pokhara
In the morning, you will embark on an excursion to Sarangkot, a popular tourist destination known for its stunning views of the Pokhara Valley and the Himalayas. Located just 13 kilometers from Lake Side in Pokhara, Sarangkot offers the highest vantage point for viewing the sunrise at an altitude of 1592 meters. The area is cooler than Pokhara and can be easily reached within 45 to 60 minutes by vehicle. Many tourists visit Sarangkot specifically to witness the sunrise.
From Sarangkot, you can see Dhaulagiri in the west and the Annapurna range on a clear day. To the south, the village overlooks Pokhara and its lake on the northwestern edge. Afternoon visit The Shree Bindhyabasini Temple in Pokhara is an ancient establishment with over 250 years of history. It is home to the revered deity Bindhyabasini Bhagwati, believed to be a manifestation of Goddess Kali. Explore the breathtaking Devi’s Fall, also known as Patale Chango, a stunning waterfall located 2 km southwest of Pokhara. Witness the waterfall in its full glory during the summer and rainy season, as gushing water cascades through the rocks. Across the road from Devi’s Fall is the famous Gupteshwor Cave, known for its natural limestone formations. Please note that photography is not allowed inside the cave. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel. (Sightseeing duration is limited to a maximum of 3 hours after the vehicle reports at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07: Pokhara – Kathmandu – Nagarkot (245 kms and 9 hours drive approx.)
After breakfast drive to Kathmandu along the same route before driving another 35 kilometers to Nagarkot. Transfer to a hotel upon arrival. Situated at an altitude of 2175 meters, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach Nagarkot from Kathmandu, with an uphill drive. This village in central Nepal, located on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley, offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest to the northeast, that are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 : Nagarkot – Kathmandu (35 kms and 1.5 hours drive) & Departure
After breakfast, depart from the hotel in Nagarkot. Proceed directly to the international airport for your onward flight. Depending on your departure time, transportation will be provided to the airport. Remember to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Depart with cherished memories of your of your trip.
